TED is coming to Battle High School. (What is TED?)
This. Is. Huge.
The TEDx Battle leadership team is excited to share information about our TED-style event on April 22, 2016. (What is TEDx?) Leaders from our community, prominent minds from across the nation, CPS and MU faculty, and our very own student voices will be heard on the TEDx stage from 9:00-4:00pm during our conference. The theme is "Beyond the Block." We can't share our awesome, but still secret, list of speakers with you just yet so stay tuned for more information.
A small live audience will rotate in and out of the Battle Performing Arts Center to hear our speakers talk about how they've lived outside or beyond their city block, immediate selves, or world circumstances. Meanwhile an unlimited audience will be able to tune in to a live stream of the event via the internet at watch parties around our building, via a computer, or on a personal device. We hope our TED speakers shake things up and set your brains spinning with inspiring ideas, relevant questions and challenging notions. You might be able to be in that live audience for part of the day. More info on that to come!
(What does a TED Talk look/sound like? Try one of these: The Danger of Silence, I Listen to Color, What Adults Can Learn from Kids, and On Being Wrong. )
If you have any questions about the day or would like to volunteer, please follow us on Twitter @TEDxBattle or contact anyone on the leadership team:
